The exact same content is being published on hundreds or thousands of sites. If you publish your article on two different sites, the search engines will see both pages, and recognize that the content is the same.

It's very simple. Instead of submitting the same article to 379 sites, write 379 different (unique, if you will) versions of your article and submit each one to one site.

Using The Wrong Tools Will Only Make Matters Worse

If you've been doing article marketing for any period of time, you'll probably have come across article "spinners" that promise to save you from duplicate content penalties.

The reality is that they all fail miserably in providing what you need; lots of unique, human-readable versions of your article without having to work for hours.

Let's look at the options available:

 

1) Automatic article "spinners"

The idea behind article spinners is simple. Take an article, find synonyms for the words in the article, and replace the words with their corresponding synonym. Sounds great, right?

The results are devastating. Just take a look at the following example. I took a sentence from an article I wrote and passed it through an automatic spinner.

On the left is the original sentence; on the right is that same sentence after being "spun" by this so-called solution.

"Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. A good breakfast will raise your metabolism early in the day, giving you more energy to do your daily activities."

"Breakfast is one of the most grievous sustenances of the day. A saving breakfast gift actuation your metastasis rude in the day, sharing you writer sprightliness to do your regular manifestations"

Maybe I'm just dizzy from all that spinning, but to me, this new sentence doesn't make any sense at all.

If you go and submit an article like that to an article directory, you might receive a polite e-mail telling you that your article has been rejected... or you might get BANNED from that directory altogether.

Remember that article directories are edited by humans. So if your article is not human-readable, it's not going in. Simple as that.

Now let's look at another option...

 

2) Manual article spinners

These work pretty much the same way as the automatic spinners, only now you have to select the words and their synonyms manually.

This is good because you control the output, so you can avoid the nonsensical phrases.

The big drawback is that it takes time. A LOT OF TIME.

Making one rewrite of your article will usually take you anywhere between 20 and 30 minutes. Try to make 100 rewrites and you're looking at days of work (if you don't run out of synonyms before you reach 10).

Recently, another type of tool has started to pop up...

 

3) Manual multi-article spinners

This is probably the best of these three options.

The idea is great. Take your article, and enter different versions of your paragraphs, sentences, and words. Then the spinner will mix-and-match these pieces to create multiple versions of your article.

It works great, but again there's a big problem (apart from the price tags which range from $169 to as high as $297)...

They all have a high learning-curve, unnecessarily complicated interfaces, and end up wasting hours of your time!

Open your article. Open a window. Enter %%Keyword%%. Go and enter the text replacements for %%Keyword%%. Separate each replacement with ##. Open the thesaurus to see if we have synonyms. Close the thesaurus. Go to our article and put ##Keyword## where we want to put these replacements. Oh, no... wait... it was %%Keyword% ... darn, I missed a percent symbol, it won't work.

I don't know what the creators of these programs were thinking when they designed their interfaces, but they certainly didn't have you, me, or any other end-user in mind.

Going from window to window, manually setting up codes for replacements, having to enter these codes into your article yourself, having to open the thesaurus just to see if the program has any synonyms for a word you want to replace. This not only wastes hours of your time, it also breaks your creative flow.
